Curtis powers Independence/Gilmanton

INDEPENDENCE, Wis. — Andy Curtis struck out six over a complete-game victory and went 3-for-3 with an RBI Monday night to lead the Independence/Gilmanton High School baseball team to a 5-1 win over Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau in Dairyland Conference play.

Curtis, who led off the first inning with a single, stole second base and scored the game’s first run on Ryan Guza’s RBI single.

Curtis singled and stole second in the third inning and delivered an RBI single to score Ryan Brandenburg in the fifth.

Guza went 2-for-2, including a solo home run in the fourth inning, and Brett Gamroth had an RBI for I/G.

Josh Jenkins went 2-for-2, and David Kulig went 1-for-3 with an RBI to lead G-E-T, which managed just one run on seven hits.

Caledonia 6, Rushford-Peterson 3

CALEDONIA, Minn. — Bobby Augedahl took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, then gave up three hits, but held on to lead Caledonia past Rushford-Peterson.

Ivan Augedahl had two RBI for Caledonia.
