LITTLETON, Colo./ WINONA — Baby Myles Mason Aldrich was an angel born sleeping.

He is the precious son of Peter and Rachel Sagan Aldrich and brother of MaKenna.

Myles will be joining his greatgrandfathers, Thedore Hitchock and Jon Sagan Sr.; great grandmothers, Patricia Hitchock and Edna Kaehler; and his angelic cousin Maridian McGuire in heaven.

Baby Myles is survived by his loving parents and big sister, MaKenna; great-grandparents, Erna Sagan, Keith and Jean Aldrich; grandparents, Susan and Neil Sagan (Myrna Rian), Bill Aldrich and Candis Hitchock (Stephen Lightfoot); aunts and uncles, Anthony Wiczek, Godparent Nathan Sagan (Julie Sobelwski), Adam and Jordan Sagan, Erin McGuire, Lucinda Wiczek, Angela McGuire; Godparent Ariana González Organista; and cousins, Ashley Wiczek, Delaney Hallock and Landon McGuire.

Our loss is so great, and the good-bye is too soon.

We love you.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Winona.

Winnie Armitage

Jan. 3, 1916 — June 15, 2008

GOODVIEW, Minn. — Winnie Armitage, 92, of Goodview died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Lake Winona Manor.

She was born Jan. 3, 1916, in Houston County, Minn., to Arther and Bessie (Luce) Buelow.

On Dec. 10, 1936, she married Bernard Armitage, and he preceded her in death April 22, 1959.

Winnie worked at St. Croix Knits for over 15 years as a seamstress.

She is survived by three daughters: Elaine Taaweek, Tulsa, Okla., Barbara Armitage, Winona, and Lois Winsky, Winona; a son, Lawrence (Maxine) Armitage, Winona; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Lucille (Donald) Hill, La Crescent, Minn.; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Evelyn Buelow and Carol Pozanc; a son, Wayne Armitage; and one brother.

Funeral services for Winnie will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona, with the Rev. Jeff Franko officiating. Interment will be in Hiler Cemetery, Nodine, Minn.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Brody T. Fort

Infant son Brody Thomas Fort of Rochester, Minn., was born and died June 16, 2008, at Methodist Hospital, Rochester.

Funeral services will take place at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna, Minn., on Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may greet the family one hour before the time of services at the funeral home on Saturday.

Brody was born a twin, the son of Thomas and Teresa (Jeno) Fort in Rochester. Brody is survived by his twin sister, Lauryn Teresa Fort; maternal grandparents, Dale and Linda Jeno of Owatonna; paternal grandparents, Lewis and Dorothy Fort of Dodge Center, Minn.; and many extended families and friends.

Berdine Judith Anna Highum

Aug. 8, 1913 — June 13, 2008

PETERSON, Minn. — Berdine Judith Anna Highum, 94, of Peterson died Friday, June 13, 2008, at the Valley View Care and Rehab Center in Houston, Minn.

Berdine was born Aug. 8, 1913, on the family farm near Peterson, to John and Bertha (Hermanson) Olness. She married Hubert “Hub” Highum on Aug. 8, 1937. She lived in the Peterson area all of her life. She was a member of North Prairie Lutheran Church, as well as the church circle, choir, quartet and quilting group. She worked at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home until her retirement in 1978. She enjoyed crocheting, needlework and traveling.

Berdine is survived by two sisters, Olive Peterson and Evelyn (Ron) Bremseth, both of Rushford; two sons, Keith of Mexico and Wayne (Neta) of Peterson; one granddaughter, Lee Raine (Justin) Randall of Adel, Iowa; two grandsons, Bret (Allison) Highum of Lennox, S.D., and Jess Highum of Glenrock, Wyo.; and five great-grandchildren, Julian and Erick Randall, and Cailey, Dani and Eli Highum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hub, on Nov. 11, 1990; and four brothers, Manvel, Joe, Conrad and Maynard Olness.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at North Prairie Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be directed to the North Prairie Lutheran Church or to Lutheran Disaster Response for the Iowa flood victims.

Thaddeus ‘Ted’ Kotlarz

March 27, 1931 — June 16, 2008

ARCADIA, Wis. — Thaddeus “Ted” Kotlarz, 77, of Arcadia died Monday, June 16, 2008.

He was born March 27, 1931, in the town of Glencoe, Wis., to Mike and Eva (Jonietz) Kotlarz.

Ted farmed all his life on Bremer Ridge near Arcadia. For many years, he worked with area farmers performing custom work.

He is survived by seven children: Pauline (Bob) George of La Crosse, Wis., Ted (Gloria) Kotlarz of South Padre, Texas, Mike (Sue) Kotlarz of Arcadia, Pat (Cindy) Kotlarz of Independence, Wis., Margaret (Tim) Pronschinske of Arcadia, Paul (Angie) Kotlarz of Arcadia, and Jack (Cybele) Kotlarz of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren: Sara Zittlow, Steven and Chris George, Collin and Jenna Kotlarz, Michael Lee Kotlarz, Amber Symicek, Jon and Kelly Kotlarz, Andy and Jill Pronschinske, Tyler Kotlarz and Casey Laehn; four great-grandchildren: Megan, Andrew and Ryan Zittlow, and Jacob Kotlarz; and a sister, Adeline Hoff of Arcadia.

Preceding Ted in death were his parents; brother, Aaron Kotlarz; and three sisters, Marion Daly, Bernice Kowahl and Eileen Ressel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2008, at Holy Family Parish, with Father Michael Klos officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Arcadia.

Friends may call from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, where there will be a 7 p.m. prayer service and a 7:30 p.m. rosary. They may also call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Casket bearers will be Ted’s grandsons.

Memorials are preferred to “Family Wishes.”

Mary Ann ‘Mims’ Mettille

Nov. 2, 1930 — June 15, 2008

LA CROSSE, Wis. — Mary Ann “Mims” Mettille, 77, of La Crosse and formerly of Winona, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008, in her home. She was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Winona to Peter and Gertrude (Niemczyk) Michalski. She married John L. Mettille on Feb. 5, 1949, in Winona, at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church. Together they raised eight children.

Mary Ann was a loving mother and wife. She was always passionate about the lives and interests of her family. Bird watching, poetry, gardening, road trips and sporting events were her favorite pastimes. She found her volunteer work at St. Francis very rewarding and found inspiration at Bible classes at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She participated regularly at Prayer Devotionals at Viterbo University and was a devout Catholic. She was very loved by her family and close circle of friends, who will miss her quick wit and playful sense of humor.

She is survived by her beloved husband, John; four sons, Edward (Cindy) of Onalaska, Wis., John Jr. (Shayla) of Versailles, Ky., Peter of La Crosse, Jim (Sally) of Onalaska; three daughters, Ann (Larry) Heiman of Berkley Lake, Ga., Sue (Jim) Hill of La Crosse and Cindy Mettille of La Crosse; a brother, Robert Michalski of California; brother-in-law/sister-in-law, Charles and Anita Mettille of Winona; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas Mettille; a brother, Edward Michalski; and two sisters, Rose Duellman and Eleanor Schultz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be today at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 South 13th St., in La Crosse. The Rev. Larry Berger will officiate, and burial will be at 1:30 p.m. today in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Winona. Friends may call at the church today from 9:30 a.m. until the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Nov. 30, 1924 — June 15, 2008

Victor J. Pronschinske, 83, of Winona and formerly of Waumandee, Wis., and Milwaukee, Wis., died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Community Memorial Hospital in Winona.

He was born Nov. 30, 1924, in the town of Montana, Wis., to Sylvan and Anna (Sendelbach) Pronschinske.

On May 13, 1946, Victor married Rose Klimek at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Independence, Wis.

Victor had been a carpenter with Math Starck & Sons in Milwaukee.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Carpenter’s Union 344. Victor was also a loyal contributor to the Milwaukee Blood Donors’ Organization.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Pronschinske of Winona; three daughters, Donna (Dan) Rotering of Independence, Wis., Marilyn (Tom) Vallery of Muskego, Wis., Barb (Lee) Gutbrod of Wind Lake, Wis.; two sons, Jerry (Marie) Pronschinske of Nekoosa, Wis., and John (Debra) Pronschinske of Waukesha, Wis.; many nieces and nephews; three sisters: Antoinette Bork of Trempealeau, Wis., Cleo Wojchik of Waumandee, Wis., and Carol (George) Narvaes of Grand Junction, Colo.; and three brothers: Sylvan (Marian) Pronschinske of Franklin, Wis., and Alois (Doris) Pronschinske and Anton “Tony” Pronschinske, both of Arcadia.

Preceding Victor in death were his parents; two daughters, Mary Ann in infancy and a stillborn; a grandson, Matthew Starck; and two brothers, Urban and Richard Pronschinske.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waumandee, with Father Michael Klos officiating. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where there will be a 7 p.m. prayer service and 7:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary, and they may also call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday.

Randy Ray Todd

Feb. 16, 1966-June 15, 2008

RUSHFORD, Minn. — Randy Ray Todd, 42, died Sunday, June 15, 2008, from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident in Hart, Minn. Randy was born Feb. 16, 1966, in La Crosse, Wis., to Richard and Doris (Hegland) Todd.

Randy served honorably in the National Guard. He married Wendy Meyer on Oct. 10, 1987, in Houston, Minn. Randy had worked for Strongwell in Chatfield, Minn., and was currently working for Fiber Pro in Onalaska, Wis. Randy was member of Root River Community Church in Rushford, did jail ministry through church for many years and was a member of Boy Scouts. Along with motorcycling, Randy loved to be outdoors four-wheeling and snowmobiling. Randy could tackle any job when given and was also known for his artistic abilities, especially drawing.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy; daughters, Tracy and Amy of Rushford; parents, Richard and Doris Todd of Houston; sisters, Rhonda (Rex) Sayles of Sycamore, Ill., and Kristin Davenport of Houston; maternal grandmother, Kathryn Vetsch and paternal grandmother, Louella Todd; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Donald Hegland, Leland Vetsch and Robert Todd.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, at Root River Community Church in Rushford. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Root River Community Church, as well as one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

MABEL, Minn. — Marian S. Hanson, 94, of Mabel died Monday, June 16, 2008, at Winneshiek Medical Center, Decorah, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Scheie Lutheran Church, rural Mabel. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services at the church.

HARMONY, Minn. — Evelyn Margret (Ashton) Leitz of Harmony, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the Green Lea Manor in Mabel, Minn.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Granger, Minn.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home, Harmony, and also one hour prior to services at the church.

Burial will be in St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Granger.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Gladys M. Serum, 80, of Eau Claire died Monday, June 16, 2008, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
