Audrey R. (Albert) Nahrgang

LEWISTON, Minn. — Audrey R. (Albert) Nahrgang, 87, a lifetime resident of Lewiston, joined her husband, Paul, at their eternal home in Heaven on May 28, 2008, in Queen Creek, Ariz.

Audrey was born June 1, 1920, in Winona County to Earl and Olive (Keith) Albert.

Audrey was also the great-granddaughter of the founder of Lewiston, Jonathan Smith Lewis.

On June 10, 1951, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Paul G. Nahrgang. Together they farmed in the rural Lewiston area.

Besides working as a homemaker, she was employed and retired from Camera Art.

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewiston, and its Dorcas Society.

Audrey was a member of the Winona County Home Council, a Winona County Fair judge and organizer, 4-H leader and a member of the Young Wives Club.

Her many interests included quilting, gardening and a love for irises. Audrey also attended Winona Teachers College (Winona State University.)

She is survived by her devoted children, Olivia Bartelson, Hampton, Minn., Paulette (David) Karn, Odessa, Minn., Roger (Mary) Nahrgang, Queen Creek, Ariz., and Carol (Dennis) Asleson, Cannon Falls, Minn. She is also survived by her one sister, Earlene (Bob) Jackson, Irvine, Calif.; sister-in-law, Ruby Luhmann of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren, Scott (Barb) Bartelson, Brenda (Phil) Rausch and Mark (Tracy) Bartelson, all of Lewiston, John (Danielle) Karn, Sioux Falls, S.D., Jennifer (Corey) Waller, Hastings, Minn., Jackie (Paul) Sczepanski, Burnsville, Minn., Kelly and Brittany Asleson, Cannon Falls, Minn., Craig Asleson, Rochester, Minn., Lisa (Chris) Archuletta, of Virginia, and Tony (Julie) Nahrgang, of Arizona; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Nahrgang; parents, Earl and Olive (Keith) Albert; step-mother, Ione Albert; sister, Marjorie Vail; brothers-in-law, Ted Vail and Gail Norman; and son-in-law, Curt Bartelson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston. The Rev. David A. Fischer and the Rev. Michael A. Lindemann will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lewiston.

Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday, June 4, 2008.

Pallbearers will be Scott Bartelson, Mark Bartelson, John Karn, Tony Nahrgang, Craig Asleson, Paul Sczepanski, Phil Rausch and Corey Waller.

Dennis R. Lockwald

June 13, 1941 — May 30, 2008

RUSHFORD, Minn. — Dennis R. Lockwald, 66, of Rushford died Friday, May 30, 2008, at his home.

Dennis was born June 13, 1941, in Chicago, Ill., to Bernard F. and Lorraine (Rossman) Lockwald.

He married Marie K. Wick on Oct. 31, 1998.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as an electronics technician from 1959 to 1963. He received his bachelor of science degree in pomology from the Polytechnic University in California.

He worked for the Ford Motor Co. and Dr. Deming in statistical process control. Dennis was owner and operator of GOM Computers in Winona. He also worked for Air Gas of La Crosse, Wis., National Teleservice of Winona and Rush Products of Rushford and Alma Center, Wis.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rushford, Rushford Lions Club, where he served on the board of directors, P.T. Cruiser Club, St. Joseph’s Cemetery Board, Winona Area Chamber of Commerce for Business after hours, Polish Culture Institute of Winona and Master Gardeners.

His personal interests included gardening, fishing and spending time with his precious grandchildren, family and close friends.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Marie; children, Bryan (Renee) Lockwald of Fort Bragg, N.C., Dennis M. Lockwald of St. Paul, Jennifer Lockwald of Seattle, Wash., Lori (Kent) Preddy of Winter Park, Fla., Bobbijo (John) Pepper of Winona, Ann (Jeff) Stirn of Arcadia, Wis., and Danielle Wick of Rushford; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Larry (Lynette) Lockwald of St. Charles, Ill., and James (Sharon) Lockwald of Denver, Colo.; and one sister, Lynne Lockwald of Long Beach, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunts and uncles.

There will be a memorial Mass for Dennis at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rushford, with the Rev. Paul Breza officiating. Burial will be in Menomonie, Wis., at a later date.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hoff Funeral Homes-Rushford Chapel, where there will be a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Mildred Brockway

HARMONY, Minn. — Mildred Brockway, 87, Harmony, formerly of Arden Hills, Minn., died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Greenfield Lutheran Church, Harmony.

Friends may call one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. — DeWayne Doebbert, 73, of Fountain City died Sunday, June 1, at Lake Winona Manor.

Arrangements are pending with Talbot Family Funeral Home, Cochrane Chapel.

Douglas J. Keller, 65, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Winona Community Memorial Hospital.

Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel will be assisting with arrangements.

LANESBORO, Minn. — Kyle Robert Musselman, 28, of Lanesboro died Friday, May 30, 2008, in a one-car accident on Highway 52, south of Chatfield, Minn.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lanesboro. Burial will be in Lanesboro Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Ruth S. Nelson, 84, of Eau Claire, formerly of rural Ettrick, Wis., died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Syverson Lutheran Home, Eau Claire.

ST. CHARLES, Minn. — Emily F. Urban, 91, of St. Charles died Saturday May 31, 2008, at Golden Living Center-Whitewater in St. Charles.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Bible Church. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, St. Charles.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services Thursday at the church.
