Bond set at $500,000 for Neenah woman in son's homicide

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Bond has been set at $500,000 for a Neenah woman who worked part-time for the Winnebago County's Child Welfare Division and is accused of suffocating her 2-year-old son.

The bond for Brenda Thiel was set Tuesday in Circuit Court. A preliminary hearing is scheduled May 29.
The 27-year-old Thiel is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death May 5 of her son, Caleb.

Authorities say she told investigators she heard voices telling her to do it.
