Cemetery’s reputation for paranormal sightings annoys locals

CLYMAN, Wis. (AP) — Dodge County deputies are stepping up their patrols around a local cemetery with a reputation for paranormal sightings.

Town of Clyman Chairman Dave Blank says the Eagle Road Cemetery continues to attract unwanted attention.

Author Chad Lewis had included the site in his series “The Road Guide to Haunted Locations.” He says there have been reports of apparitions as well as pockets of cold on warm nights.

Blank says the attention has led to ongoing vandalism problems. He says the town board may raise the loitering fine from $200 to $1,000.

According to the sheriff’s department logs, deputies have been told to check the graveyard during all shifts.

The graveyard dates back to the 1800s. Blank says no one’s been buried there in more than 20 years.
