Two injured after armed intruder enters Cottage Grove home

COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. — The Dane County sheriff’s department is investigating a home invasion in which an intruder pistol-whipped two residents.

The sheriff’s department says the male entered a Cottage Grove apartment around 1:40 a.m. Saturday morning.
The two people injured, a 63-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, were taken to a local hospital with head injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

The Cottage Grove Police Department asked the sheriff’s office to investigate the crime.
