Man with replica gun threatens crowd

.
A Winona man is in custody after witnesses say he threatened them with a handgun early Saturday.

Police arrested Roy Terral Gore III for fifth-degree assault and making terrorist threats shortly after 1 a.m. near Schyde’s Drinks and Whatnot bar, 102 Johnson St.
Police said an officer on patrol was alerted by several people near the bar that Gore had threatened them with a handgun. The officer later found a “replica” weapon, which fires only blanks, in the man’s car, police said.

Several witnesses told the officer Gore had pointed a gun at them. Witnesses suspected Gore had hid the gun in his nearby car.

The officer identified Gore near his vehicle and was given permission to search. The officer found a GAP 8mm semi-automatic handgun under the driver’s seat and arrested Gore.

At first glance, the gun appears similar to a police-issued Glock handgun, police said.

Witnesses said they thought the gun was real.

Gore is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday.

a replica gun is just like pepper spray or a tazer

" "Your gun says REPLICA on the side of it..." "My gun says Desert Eagle .50 written on the side of it..." (movie line from Snatch) He may as well have threatened them with a snickers bar! "

" This is serious, I may have shot him if I had been there and felt he was a serious threat. This is a problem with replica or toy guns, the people don' know if they are close to being shot or not. "
