The heroes were plenty for the Patriots, who will play Lewiston-Altura at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Peterson in the loser’s bracket semifinals.
Felicia Meyer pitched a no-hitter in the 1-0 win over Southland. She struck out 10 and walked two. She also had the game-winning RBI single in the sixth inning — one of only two Hope Lutheran hits.
Meyer then struck out 15 and walked three in the 2-1 win over Rushford-Peterson.
Meyer had the game-tying RBI single in the sixth. Teammate Angie Wenzel led off the seventh with a single and then scored on a Christine Klug single of her own to win it.
R-P got up 1-0 in the first inning and maintained that lead with Erica Johnson pitching five innings of no-hit ball. She struck out four and walked none.
Kayla Rislov came on in the fourth and suffered the loss.
In the last matchup between L-A and Hope Lutheran, the Cardinals got the win 4-0.
Wabasha-Kellogg 2, R-P 1
PETERSON, Minn. — In this championship-bracket semifinal, down a run, Wabasha-Kellogg got a two-out, two-run home run over the fence in left-center field in the bottom of the fifth from Ava Perry.
Perry also struck out 12 and walked one in the complete-game win for W-K, which heads into the sub-section championship for the eighth-consecutive year. W-K will play No. 1-seeded Chatfield at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Peterson.
Rushford-Peterson’s Heather Vix had the RBI single in the third inning, while teammate Lakyn Lind was 2-for-3 with a double.
Just before Perry’s home run, Megan Leisen got on with a single, which also came with two outs. In the inning previous to the home run, with a runner on second and first base open, R-P elected to intentionally walk Perry.
Kayla Rislove struck out eight and walked two in the loss for R-P.
Chatfield 6, L-A 2
PETERSON, Minn. — In this championship-bracket semifinal, Chatfield scored five runs in the fourth inning to pull away from Lewiston-Altura.
Angela Harstad was 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Cardinals, while Alyssa Franzen was 2-for-4.
Chatfield was tied at 1-1 with L-A heading into the fourth when it plated five on four hits and three Cardinal errors.
Ellen Becker struck out six and walked none in the win. Kayla Peterson struck out seven and walked none in four innings for L-A. She suffered the loss.
L-A 5, Goodhue 4
PETERSON, Minn. — In the loser’s bracket quarterfinal, a three-run sixth inning — all scored with two outs — and the Ashley Eglund game-winning double in the seventh was just enough for Lewiston-Altura.
Eglund’s double scored Angela Harstad in the bottom of the seventh inning. Harstad reached on an error and was sacrificed over by Alyssa Franzen, who was 2-for-3.
Eglund, who also picked up the win, pitching the final two innings, led off the sixth with a single for L-A, which was trailing 4-1 at that point.
With two outs, Emily Kronebush knocked in Eglund with a single. Shelly Haag followed with an RBI single of her own before Brit Rogers tied the game with an RBI double.
Kayla Peterson started and got the no-decision for L-A. She struck out six and walked two in five innings. Eglund, who was 2-for-2, struck out one and walked none.
Goodhue 2, Houston 0
PETERSON, Minn. — Goodhue scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to eliminate Houston in the first round of the loser’s bracket.

ST. CHARLES, Minn. — In being eliminated in the first round of the loser’s bracket, Fillmore Central/Lanesboro was held to just four hits by Dover-Eyota’s Molly Behrens, who struck out eight and walked one.
Nicole VerKuilen and Rachel Salsman were both 3-for-4 for D-E. VerKuilen had two RBIs.
Lake City 12, P-E-M 2
ST. CHARLES, Minn. — In the first round of the loser’s bracket, Lake City put up nine of its 12 runs in the first two innings. Laura Berktold was 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs for the Tigers.
Alise Holst had a home run for Plainview-Elgin-Millville, which was eliminated.
