U.S. District Court Judge Patrick Schiltz also sentenced Jon Wendell Green to supervised release for life.
Green was charged with one count of a receiving child pornography in December 2007 and pleaded guilty in January.
According to his plea agreement, Green received at least 271 video clips and 7,461 images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on Aug. 3, 2007.
Green stored them on both his computer hard drive and on CDs.
Green admitted the material had been transported over the Internet.
This case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative that encourages the use of multi-jurisdictional task forces to investigate and prosecute cases involving sexual exploitation of children over the Internet.
