WSHS senior places third at science, humanities event

Kate Weegman, a senior at Winona Senior High School, placed third at the National Science and Humanities Symposium, held April 30-May 4 in Orlando, Fla.

Weegman competed against students from 48 different regions from the U.S. and Department of Defense Schools worldwide. She is second alternate to attend the European symposium this summer. Weegman received a $2,000 scholarship award.
Weegman is the daughter of Dale and Lisé Weegman of Winona. She is competing this week at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Atlanta.
