Former WSU RB Wiese to join Peoria of AFL2

Alex Wiese, a former standout for Winona State University’s football team, will join the Peoria (Ill.) Pirates of Arena Football League 2.

Wiese, a running back, wrapped up his senior season last fall for the Warriors. He led the team in rushing with 1,458 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Wiese, who attended La Crescent High School, will report to the team Monday.

The Pirates are six games into their their schedule and were 2-3 going into Saturday’s game against Green Bay.

Peoria plays the following Saturday at the Quad City Steamwheelers in Moline, Ill.
