“Obviously we were hoping to do better,” Cotter coach Jason Yusten said. “Things didn’t quite fall our way. Putting was our downfall.”
Byron placed first, with a 346, shooting 16 shots better than second place Lake City.
Cam Mortland of Byron was the medalist, shooting 82.
For Cotter, Kendra Koetz shot 112, Rory Biesanz shot 117, Emily Brom shot 120 and Jessica Giers posted 122.

Logan 7, La Crescent 6
LA CRESCENT, Minn. — Austin Lubinsky’s two-out single in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday drove in Ben Devine and helped the Logan High School baseball team defeat La Crescent in a nonconference game.
The Lancers (12-6) tied the game at 6 in the bottom of the sixth on a Derek Kubicek single that drove in Ian Anderson. Logan (10-3) took a 6-5 lead in the top of the sixth. Zak Welke had an RBI single and Tommy Loken scored on a wild pitch.
