7:26 a.m. — A Hornberg Brothers Construction employee reported about $1,225 worth of tools stolen from a work truck in the 200 block of Janet Marie Drive. The truck was locked, but the back window was broken sometime between 5 p.m. May 7 and 7 a.m. May 8. The hand tools — a router, a router bit set and a Makita power-drill kit — were stolen and most had the letters “BHC” engraved on them.
Sunday
11:15 p.m. — A 23-year-old Winona man reported a burglary in the 300 block of West Broadway at a residence he was watching for a friend. He told police someone had broken in after he last checked on the place between Saturday night and 9:30 p.m. Sunday and stole a Pioneer 50-inch plasma TV and a Dell laptop, all worth about $4,000. The apartment’s front door was forced open.
Monday
12:32 a.m. — Police arrested Lynne Anne Rasmussen, 44, in the 350 block of Mankato Avenue on suspicion she violated her felony probation for burglary and drugs convictions. Rasmussen admitted in court Monday to not reporting to her probation agent and was reinstated to probation and sentenced to 60 days in jail.
2:59 a.m. — A Behrens Manufacturing employee reported someone had broken into vending machines and stole an unknown amount of cash and candy. The employee said it appeared the thief also took
galvanized metal bucket prototypes from an office to transport the stolen goods out of the building. The buckets had the words “Ace” and “Tuff Guy” written on them. Entry was gained through an unlocked window of the building at 471 W. Third St.
6 p.m. — A 16-year-old Winona girl was cited for underage drinking when she tried to drop off money to her boyfriend, who is in the Winona County Jail. When she arrived at the Law Enforcement Center, a jailer smelled alcohol on her breath and called an officer to investigate. A breath test found the girl’s blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.057 percent, and she was cited and released to her father.
