Police investigating report of sexual assault in U of M dorm

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — University of Minnesota police are investigating a report of a sexual assault in a campus dormitory.

Police say the victim was sleeping in her room in Middlebrook Hall on the West Bank campus around 3:15 a.m. but woke up when she felt someone touching her. When she woke up, she saw the suspect run out of the room.

Police say the victim was unable to provide a description of the suspect. Her roommate did not wake up.

Police say their room was not locked.

It’s the second report of a sexual assault on the Minneapolis campus in as many weeks. The other was April 27 in the Pioneer Hall dormitory on the East Bank.

Last weekend, another woman was sexually assaulted in her apartment near campus.
