The top four golfers from WSHS and JM were tied at 327. A tiebreaker, determined by each team’s fifth best golfer, became the deciding factor.
Justin Ewert and John Gaspar tied for fourth with an 85 for the Winhawks while Max Heimer and Mike Rousu tied for fourth with an 86 for the Rockets. Thus, WSHS won by one stroke.
“This shows that every stroke counts,” Winhawks coach Jon Hogenson said. “We lost earlier in the year the same way. It was nice to come out on the good side of it this time.”
William Leaf was the medalist shooting a 75, while Zach Erickson shot 83 and Frank Wychram shot 84 for WSHS.
“For having never played this course before, William had a great score,” Hogenson said. “He putted extremely well.”
