Rally planned against gang violence in Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Residents of Rochester will rally against gang violence next week.

The rally follows two recent shootings — one of them gang-related, the other a drive-by that may be gang-related.

Rally organizer Bill Chappuis says he’s had enough, so he’s planning a “show of force” to let gang members know that “Rochester doesn’t want this any more.”

Mayor Ardell Brede (BRAY’-dee) says he welcomes the rally.

The rally begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16, at the Watson Sports Complex.
