WSU’s Brady Strangstalien shot 76 to finish tied for 13th while teammate Kevin Loeffler shot the low round for WSU with 75 and finished tied for 20th in the tournament.
Ross Wilhelm shot 78, Keegan Drugan shot 82 and John Anderson finished with 86.
Womens golf
GRAND FORKS, ND — WSU junior Megan Placko shot a 79 in the final round and finished 18th in the North Central Regional Tournament at King’s Walk Golf Course.
Placko shot 240 (83-78-79) in the 54 hole tournament and was the lone Warrior in the event.
Baseball
Concordia 6-7, SMU 4-6
In Game 1, SMU (8-23, 4-16) got off to an early 3-1 lead when catcher Alex Schmidt hit a three-run home run in the second inning.
The Cobbers (18-14, 10-10) answered with three runs in the fourth to take the lead but the Cardinals tied the game in the bottom of the inning on David Krieger’s RBI single.
In the seventh, Concordia’s Scott Schumacher broke the tie with an RBI double and Tyler Doll followed with an RBI single two batters later.
Kyle Johnson went 3-for-4 and Nick Lewis went 2-for-3 for the Cobbers while Schmidt finished 1-for-2 with three RBIs for the Cardinals.
In Game 2, SMU took a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when Kevin Black hit a two-run triple and Kyle Ryan followed with an RBI single but the Cobbers would have another strong seventh inning.
In the seventh, Concordia scored four runs. Doll had a two-run double in the inning.
Youngquist finished 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs and Jake Krause went 2-for-3 with a double for the Cobbers while Black was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs and Brady Knudsen was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
