Published - Tuesday, May 06, 2008 Bush to blame for high gas prices Someone asked me what I thought about high price of gas the other day. Well, actually I think it’s pretty simple. When Jimmy Carter, whose family had large peanut plantations, was president, the cost of peanuts went up and never came back down. It is well known that the Bush family has had a long friendly relationship with the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia. For those who believe it has something to do with the few cents raise in the state gas tax, check the rise in prices since 2001.
