Tellefsen, who is from Andover, Minn., was named this year’s recipient of the Willis R. Kelly Scholar Athlete Award for Academic Excellence.
In its 23rd year, the award honors the top female student-athlete in the NSIC.
Southwest Minnesota State’s Tyler Fischer, a member of the football team, won the Dr. William Britton Scholar Athlete Award that honors the top male student-athlete.
Tellefsen helped the Warriors soccer team to a berth in the NCAA Division II regional in her senior season. She started every game (89 games) during her career, scoring nine goals and 13 assists.
She was an all-NSIC selection, an all-Central Region third-team pick and was named to ESPN The Magazine’s academic all-district team.
Tellefsen carried a 4.0 grade-point average, made the Dean’s list each semester and was an all-NSIC academic selection three times.
