12:44 p.m. — Winona police assisted Department of Corrections agents conducting a check on Matthew Francis Stoneburg, 23, of Winona and found baggies with cocaine residue on them, 78.46 grams of marijuana and a loaded
12-gauge shotgun in his home at 1052 E. King St. Stoneburg was taken into custody and was charged Monday with possession of a controlled substance and felon in possession of a firearm.
Monday
9:26 a.m. — Police received a report of at least six vehicles damaged near the Callista Court Benedictine Adult Day Center on West Broadway street. The vehicles appeared to have been scratched on the trunks and quarter panels with a key. The cars were damaged overnight Thursday. One witness reported seeing a man in the area at 1 a.m. Friday wearing dark clothing. The case is under investigation.
3:50 p.m. — Sheila Diane Cheeks, 65, of Winona was caught stealing two pounds of ground beef worth $7.19 from Midtown Foods at 126 E. Fifth St. Cheeks was cited for theft by shoplifting.
Tuesday
2:30 p.m. — Police cited Chelsea Rae Petron, 18, of Anoka, Minn., for theft by shoplifting. She was observed stealing two curtains worth $33.99 from Wal-Mart.
Winona County
Thursday
11:37 p.m. — Deputies pulled over Jacquelyn McCarty, 23, of La Crosse, Wis., for speeding and driving the wrong way on an exit ramp on Highway 61 near Dresbach, Minn. She was taken to the jail, where her blood-alcohol concentration measured 0.08 percent. She was cited and released for misdemeanor drunken driving.
The Sheriff’s Department reported no incidents Wednesday.
