Wednesday

3:22 p.m. — Police received a report of a cement block being thrown onto the windshield of a car in the 100 block of East Sanborn Street sometime during the weekend. The block did not break through the windshield, but it did cause damage to the glass, hood and bumper. Police have no suspects.

Thursday

12:45 a.m. — Police stopped Michael Allen Stewart, 19, of Winona, for going 39 mph in a 30-mph zone in the area of Hamilton Street and Broadway. He appeared intoxicated and admitted drinking one shot of liquor. He was arrested and a breath test found his blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.11 percent. Police also found several straws in Stewart’s vehicle that had trace amounts of cocaine in them. Stewart was referred to the county attorney’s office for charges of drunken driving and cocaine possession.

April 2

9:32 p.m. — Deputies responded to an assault at the Dog Patch Bar & Grill in Troy, Minn. The victim reported being thrown to the ground and hit in the nose by another man who was arguing with a woman. The victim reported he injured his arm but did not seek medical attention. The Sheriff’s Department mailed a citation this week to the aggressor, Mark Allan Sveen, 43, of Fountain, Minn., for misdemeanor assault.

Saturday

1:06 a.m. — A deputy driving along Highway 61 near Green Terrace Mobile Home Park noticed a car in the median without a driver. The officer discovered it was registered to someone who lived close by and spoke with Kathleen Kay Roberts, 43, at her home. She admitted driving the car, smelled strongly of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. Roberts was cited for misdemeanor drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.19 percent.
