Published - Sunday, April 20, 2008 Police For Friday, April 18, 2008 Winona Wednesday 8:53 a.m. — Police were called to Winona Middle School on a report of a fight. A 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were fighting because one of them was being “disrespectful” to the other. Both were given disorderly conduct citations. 7:55 p.m. — An officer recognized Douglas Duane Rinn, 43, of Winona, as he drove by in the area of Sarnia and Huff streets and knew Rinn had a canceled driver’s license. After arresting Rinn, the officer noticed he appeared intoxicated. Rinn’s blood-alcohol concentration was 0.11 percent. Police also found a marijuana pipe and 20.01 grams of marijuana in Rinn’s car. Rinn was referred to the county attorney’s office for charges of gross misdemeanor drunken driving, driving after cancellation, no insurance, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. Thursday 1:35 a.m. — A suspicious vehicle at Kwik Trip on Homer Road was reported to officers. They later observed the driver of the vehicle squeal its tires when making a turn. The driver, Eric Rusell Hofmann, 22, of Winona, appeared intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. He was cited for misdemeanor drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.14 percent. Winona County Wednesday 7:22 p.m. — A 47-year-old Goodview woman reported three trailers had been broken into at the Pla-Mor Campground on Highway 61 near Homer, Minn., sometime in the past two weeks. All three had been entered by prying open side windows. Items missing included two fire extinguishers and a ratchet for a trailer jack. No value was given on the items, and there was no damage estimate to the trailers. Police are continuing to investigate but have no suspects.
