Winona

Friday

2:25 a.m. n Police received a report of suspicious activity in the area of Sanborn and Laird streets. The caller re-ported seeing four college-aged people walking along the street with a large, glass lawn ornament. When officers arrived, two of them said the green globe was a “party trophy” that travels from party to party. Because they didn’t know who the globe actually belonged to, officers confiscated it for safe keeping.

4:38 a.m. n Police pulled over Adam James young, 21, of Marine St. Croix, Minn. for traveling 49 mph in a 30-mph zone in the area of Dacota and Wabasha streets. Young was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. With a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.12 percent, he was cited for misdemeanor drunken driving and speeding.
