Fire calls

Wednesday

1:41 p.m. — 250 W. Howard St. — Personnel responded to a smoke odor in the building andtracked it to a faulty and overheated compact fluorescent lightbulb. 4:05 p.m.
8:04 p.m. — 314 E. King St. — Personnel were called to a persistent burnt odor in the kitchen, determined to be caused by residual food under the burners and on top of the oven range. 8:41 p.m.

Thursday

3:52 p.m. — Garvin Heights Lookout — Personnel responded to Garvin Heights Lookout for a report of a possible jumper. The call was canceled en route by the Winona Police Department, who had the person in custody. 4:10 p.m.

5:56 p.m. — 1749 W. Broadway — A pharmacist who thought a caller was having a medical problem called 911. No emergency was present. 6:15 p.m.

Friday

11:34 a.m. — 215 E. Fourth St. — Personnel responded to Fourth and Franklin streets for a report of smoke coming from a second-floor window. A wood burner was found emitting smoke. 11:39 p.m.

4:06 p.m. — Fourth and Center streets — Personnel responded to clean up the area from a vehicle accident. 4:26 p.m.

4:32 p.m. — 225 W. Second St. — Personnel responded non-emergency to County Environmental Building to investigate an odor of sulfur. The smell was not located. Employees were informed to call again if smell persisted, and personnel checked on the building throughout the night. 4:56 p.m.

5:17 p.m. — 3790 W. Sanborn St. — Personnel provided mutual aid to a building fire. 5:47 p.m.

6:57 p.m. — 457 Gould St. — Personnel responded to an activated detector. No fire was present. 7:08 p.m.

Monday

9:01 a.m. — 79 W. Broadway Apt. 3 — Residents reported hearing a popping noise and smelled a smoke odor from below. Personnel were unable to detect smoke odor or overheated object. 9:15 a.m.
