Police calls for Monday, April 14, 2008

Saturday
4:07 p.m. — A witness called police to report a hit-and-run accident. The witness notified police that there was a semi cab parked behind Shopko that matched the description of the vehicle involved in the accident. The driver of the semi truck was identified as Mitchell Allen Rider, 47, of Burt, Iowa, and is being charged with third-degree drunken driving, open container and second-degree test refusal.

Sunday

1:27 a.m. — An officer pulled over James Armin Riemer, 28, of Minneapolis at Fourth and Johnson streets after observing Riemer’s vehicle without its headlights on. A Breathalyzer test at the scene indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.30 percent. Riemer is being charged with third-degree drunken driving.

12:01 a.m. — Benjamin Lee Virock, 32, of Brownsville, Minn., is being charged with third degree drunken driving after his vehicle crashed into a guardrail on Hwy. 61 near Lamoille. Virock told officers he was on his cell phone when he went off the road. A Breathalyzer test indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.19 percent.

Sunday

12:28 a.m. — Ashlee Ann Kolter, 22, of Utica, Minn., is being charged with fifth-degree domestic assault after an incident at her home where the alleged victim suffered an eye injury after being punched and scratched several times. After the victim called police, Kolter took off running. Deputy Chris Cichosz used his dog Blitz to track Kolter until finding her hiding under a tree.
