Published - Sunday, April 13, 2008 Police For Sunday, April 13, 2008 Winona Friday 3:39 p.m. — Police were called to Winona Middle School for a report of two students fighting. Video surveillance recorded the fight. Two male juveniles, both from Winona, ages 14 and 13 were referred to the county attorney’s office for charges. 10:58 p.m. — A police officer on a routine patrol near Huff and Wabasha streets watched a Chevrolet Camaro cross the centerline of traffic and nearly collide with him head-on. The officer initiated a traffic stop. The officer also smelled an alcohol odor coming from the driver, Kyle Dean Rundquist, 20, of Pepin, Wis. Rundquist failed field sobriety tests. A portable breath test revealed a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent. A breath test at the Law Enforcement Center revealed a 0.22 percent blood-alcohol content. Rundquist was cited for third-degree DWI and driving over the centerline. Saturday 2:52 a.m. — A police officer noticed a car with expired tags driving near Broadway and McBride Street. The officer stopped the car, which was being driven by Sara Katherine Schwab, 21, of Buffalo City, Wis. The officers detected alcohol and administered field sobriety tests, which Schwab failed. A portable breath analyzer showed Schwab had a 0.11 percent blood-alcohol content, which was later confirmed at the Law Enforcement Center by another breath analysis. She was cited for fourth-degree DWI. 3:17 a.m. — Police saw a car at Broadway and Huff Street disobey a traffic signal and initiated a stop. The officers smelled alcohol and administered field sobriety tests to Eric Gene Muchow, 19, of Owatonna, Minn. Muchow failed the tests and a portable breathalyzer revealed he had a 0.10 percent blood-alcohol content. A test at the Law Enforcement Center confirmed that. Muchow was cited for fourth-degree DWI. A passenger in the car, Gregory Andrew Olson, 19, also of Owatonna, was cited for underage consumption. Winona County The sheriff’s office had nothing to report Saturday.
