Letter writer wrong about Coleman

Your newspaper recently published a letter to the editor by Paul Bartlett of St. Paul (April 7) that is factually incorrect, and I’d like to take this opportunity to set the record straight.

First, Senate Amendment 545 was a vote in the U.S. Senate in 2007 on the Senate Budget Resolution that would have increased funding for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act by raising taxes on a significant portion of Americans.
Second, the Norm Coleman campaign had nothing to do with, nor no prior knowledge of, the recent ad being aired in Minnesota referencing Sen. Coleman.

Coleman is proud of his record of bringing people together to get things done. He continues to work hard representing the people of Minnesota in the Senate on the tough issues of today, like reforming health care, promoting renewable energy innovation and helping American families keep more of their hard-earned dollars.
