Published - Saturday, April 12, 2008 Fire/rescue For Saturday, April 12, 2008 Friday 12:22 a.m. — 700 Terrace Heights — Personnel responded to Hillside dorm for an active fire alarm. Canceled en route. 12:45 a.m. 7:23 p.m. — 700 Terrace Heights — Skemp Hall Detector activation-no fire. 7:35 p.m. Saturday 1:22 p.m. — 153 Franklin St. — Crew responded to a report of a strong odor of smoke, believed to be coming from the basement right below. Odor of wood stove noticeable on arrival. No problem could be found. Occasional smell of smoke coming from outside, believed to have been the source. 1:27 p.m. 3:36 p.m. — 561 W. Fifth St. — Resident burning trash in steel barrel. She was asked to extinguish the fire — per city code. 3:50 p.m. Monday 12:53 p.m. — 250 W. Howard St. — Burnt popcorn activated alarm system. Alarm silenced and system reset. 1:07 p.m.
