WSU tennis drops SMU
In a cross-town battle, the Winona State University men’s tennis team defeated Saint Mary’s University 8-1 on Thursday.
“Give Winona State credit, they are a very good team and they played a great match,” SMU coach Jeff Halberg said. “I thought our guys gave it their all, we just came out on the short end today.”
Steve Clements of SMU won his eighth consecutive match as he defeated Zach Williams of the Warriors for the Cardinals’ only win.
WSU improved its record to 5-10 while SMU falls to 5-7.
