Published - Friday, March 28, 2008 Area man accused of sex with 15-year-old A Lewiston man appeared in Winona County District Court on Thursday to face two charges of criminal sexual conduct with a 15-year-old girl. Anthony Jermaine McCoy, 23, faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison if convicted on the charges, which allege he used force to initiate sexual contact in October 2007. Appearing after being mailed a summons, McCoy was released on his own recognizance with conditions he not have contact with the alleged victim or unsupervised contact with girls younger than 18. According to a criminal complaint filed March 5, the victim told investigators the incident happened about the time of her 15th birthday. She said she was at a residence with McCoy and three other men. One of those men said he saw McCoy drag the girl into the basement while she struggled to pull away. The girl told investigators she initially resisted but relented out of fear. The witness said they were in the basement for about 11/2 hours before the girl came upstairs, crying and leaving the house, according to the complaint. McCoy faces other charges, including domestic assault, trespassing, possession of a small amount of marijuana and child endangerment for allegedly leaving a 4-year-old home alone on several occasions between September and November 2007.
