New state patrol cars to show off retro design

The Minnesota State Patrol is going retro. The Department of Public Safety announced this week that it will phase in a “new” paint design for its nearly 500 marked squads. The maroon-body-with-white-doors design is a throwback to how the squads looked from 1960 to 1991. The paint job will replace the all-maroon-with-gold-stripe design currently patrolling Minnesota’s highways and interstates.
