More than 150 students in grades six through 12 particpated in this year’s event, with several winners earning the right to compete at the MN State Science Fair and WI State Science Fair.

Winona Senior High School students Kate Weegman and Ariah Klages-Mundt, pictured here, earned the two top spots at the fair and a chance to compete May 11-17 at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Atlanta.
Two alternates selected for the event, Elaine Ayers and Naeh Klages-Mundt, also were WSHS students.
Moving on to the MN State Research Paper Competition for the high school level are Timothy Van Cleave, Ariah Klages-Mundt, Ayers, Weegman and Naeh Klages-Mundt, all Winona Senior High School students.
Moving on at the middle school level are Molly Dunlap and Sarah Loepfe from La Crescent Middle School, and Destiny Dux, Eugenia Kim, Megan Seeley, Chris Bernard and Will Krageschmidt from Winona Middle School.
Advancing to the state Project Competition from La Crescent Middle School are Jessica Michalke, Abbey Bray, Melissa Folstad, Debra Petersen, Tessa Ladsten, Ryan Howe, Jordan Justman, Chelsea Nagle, Ellie Bergstedt, Sarah Carrasco, Casey Mickschl, Lexie Adams, Anna Skemp, Jarrod Kling, Alyssa Graf, Hayley Duerwachter, Taylor Gibson, Katie Horn, Haley Traun, Laura Tripp, Ashley Hase, Tate Youngblut.
Advancing from WMS are Kaitlyn Lindaman, Jeremy Zhang, Jean Leighton, Kendra Pringle and Orion McCullough-Smith.
Cody Hendrickson of Fillmore Central Middle School and Johanna Ender of Bluffview Elementary also will advance to the state competition.
Moving on to the WI State Project Competition from Cochrane-Fountain City High School are Torey Hilt, Megan Hurlburt, Hannah LaDuke, Kayla Litscher, Tanner Lyga and Tristan Marklowitz.
Advancing from Onalaska High School are Kyle Edmunds, Nathan Love, James Pauer and Paul Zimmer.
