Ridgeway Community School’s fourth- and fifth-grade class will present a trip back to colonial times during the school’s open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
The exhibit in the gymnasium will show craftsmen at work and include a visit with George Washington and Paul Revere. Participants can play colonial children’s games such as hoop rolling, stilt walking and Jacob’s ladder. The kindergarten through third-grade classes also will have artwork and class projects on display at both the open house and a kindergarten roundup, which begins at 5:30 p.m.
Ridgeway will accept donations for the Food Shelf during the event.
Ridgeway Community School and the Ridgeway Community Association also will host an open house for its renovation and addition project from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. A dedication program will be held at 1:30 p.m., featuring the new student and community library. Representatives of the “Friends of the Ridgeway Community Library” will be on hand to assist visitors in getting SELCO regional library cards and orienting them to the new library. The event is open to the public, and refreshments will be provided. A chili and hot dog lunch also will be available.
