Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer, a principled and visionary leader in the spirit of Paul Wellstone, has been winning over audiences at candidate debates because he articulates the clearest, most progressive and coherent ideas for moving our country forward.
You can see Jack debate Al Franken and Mike Ceresi at the DFL Senate Candidate Debate, Feb. 3, at noon in WSU’s Somsen Auditorium. All DFL candidates talk about ending the Iraq war, but Jack wants a major redirection of U.S. foreign policy away from escalating global militarism and unilateralism toward mutually respectful and fair international relations that foster peace, reconciliation and justice.
Even Republicans now mention climate change, but Jack calls for a realistic acknowledgement that we are in our “most important decade” for addressing environmental degradation, a time when we need bold national and international responses to avoid passing on a devastated natural world to future generations.
All politicians claim to have everyone’s interest at heart, but Jack advocates concrete policies — including a national single-payer health insurance system — which redirects tax dollars to the common good and reverses trends that have made the U.S. the developed nation with the greatest gap between rich and poor.
You can play a role in choosing which candidate the DFL nominates by coming to the precinct caucuses at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5. You can learn more about Jack at his Web site: www.JackForSenate.org.
