Child sexual offense cases scheduled in Buffalo court

.
A 39-year-old Cochrane man waived his right to a preliminary hearing on a felony charge of possessing child pornography in Buffalo County.

Gerald P. Mueller was bound over for trial and scheduled to be arraigned in circuit court at Alma, Wis., on Jan. 18. A possible plea agreement may be reached, according to court records.
Mueller was arrested Aug. 22 in the town of Waumandee after sheriff’s investigators exercised a search warrant and seized a computer and storage disks containing pornographic photos and videos of young girls.

In other cases:

  • Barry J. Ouimet, 33 of Chippewa Falls, Wis., is scheduled to have a plea hearing Jan. 9 on a felony charge of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime with a child younger than 16.

A complaint says Ouimet exchanged explicit sexual materials and messages with a police investigator posing as a juvenile girl in an Internet chat room Aug. 29.

  • Stanley F. Myers, 61, of Nelson, is charged with two felony counts of sexually assaulting a child younger than 16.

Myers has not entered a plea. A complaint filed by sheriff’s investigators said Myers sexually assaulted a young girl in 2006 and 2007 in the town of Nelson. A case status conference is scheduled Feb. 6.

" Reasonable- If your child were run over in Ft City by a speeder that was going 10MPH over the limit you would ask why there wasn't a cop there patrolling traffic instead of sitting on a computer in an office trying to lure someone from a different county into Buffalo Co. "

" This predator had no connection to Buffalo Co until a Buffalo Co investigator, with nothing to do, went to a website and pretended to be a minor. "

" Sonny, I would much rather deal with someone in F.C. going 10MPH over the speed limit than sexual predators going after our kids! If some child you knew was molested by one of these SOB’s you’d probably be on here arguing the other point. “Why aren’t the police looking for these guys instead of wasting their time looking for speeders in F.C.” "

" Buffalo Co investigators don't have enough to do if they have the time to pose as minors on the internet to trap sexual predators. They could spend that time patrolling Ft City and that town wouldn't have so much trouble with a police dept. "

" I'd like to say good job to all the Buffalo County officers and investigators that have been working hard at putting these sexual predators where they belong... BEHIND BARS! As well as a huge THANK YOU for all that you do-You are appreciated! "
