Child sexual offense cases scheduled in Buffalo court

A 39-year-old Cochrane man waived his right to a preliminary hearing on a felony charge of possessing child pornography in Buffalo County.

Gerald P. Mueller was bound over for trial and scheduled to be arraigned in circuit court at Alma, Wis., on Jan. 18. A possible plea agreement may be reached, according to court records.

Mueller was arrested Aug. 22 in the town of Waumandee after sheriff’s investigators exercised a search warrant and seized a computer and storage disks containing pornographic photos and videos of young girls.

In other cases:

  • Barry J. Ouimet, 33 of Chippewa Falls, Wis., is scheduled to have a plea hearing Jan. 9 on a felony charge of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime with a child younger than 16.

A complaint says Ouimet exchanged explicit sexual materials and messages with a police investigator posing as a juvenile girl in an Internet chat room Aug. 29.

  • Stanley F. Myers, 61, of Nelson, is charged with two felony counts of sexually assaulting a child younger than 16.

Myers has not entered a plea. A complaint filed by sheriff’s investigators said Myers sexually assaulted a young girl in 2006 and 2007 in the town of Nelson. A case status conference is scheduled Feb. 6.
