Rushford insurance agents receive flood assistance

.
RUSHFORD, Minn. — Creighton Horihan of Linda Horihan Insurance Agency and Dennis Overland of Overland Insurance Agency each received a check for $2,750 from the Professional Insurance Agents of Minnesota Disaster Relief Fund.

Dale Krage and Greg Sather presented the money to Horihan and Overland on Oct. 16 at the Rushford Village Hall.

The Overland Insurance Agency and the Linda Horihan Insurance Agency were forced from their downtown Rushford locations when torrential rains and subsequent flooding Aug. 18-19 caused damage to area homes and businesses. Overland Insurance Agency has temporarily relocated to the Rushford Village Hall, and the Linda Horihan Agency has recently reopened its 302 S. Mill St. location.

The PIA Disaster Relief Fund was established to directly assist independent agents who were displaced from their offices. Contributions were received from PIA member agents, township mutual companies and PIA of Minnesota.

The Professional Insurance Agents Association of Minnesota serves independent insurance agents and consumers by promoting professionalism and is affiliated with the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents.
