WSU freshman Keegan Drugan shot a one-under 69 and will start the final round in a three-way tie for first place in the individual standings.
The Warriors played host to the five-team, two-day tournament and shot 282 to lead the field. Two of the five teams will play five opening-round holes today before Round 1 is officially completed. The final round is also scheduled for today.
WSU’s Kevin Loeffler shot even-par 70, while Ross Wilhelm and John Anderson shot 71s.
“The guys played alright,” WSU coach Robert Newberry said. “Another steady effort.
“Hopefully we can get (the final round) in around the rain.”

Riverport Inn Championship
TREMPEALEAU, Wis. — Three of the six teams competing could not complete the first round at Trempealeau Mountain Golf Club due to lightning in the area.
Winona State completed its round at 341, good for third place out of the three teams that finished the round. Concordia-St. Paul leads the field at 325.
Megan Placko and Courtney Soveriegn led WSU with 82s.
Upper Iowa, Gustavus and St. Cloud State all did not complete the first round and will finish the opening round today before final round play.

Northern State 1, Winona State 0
Kirsten Saunders scored in the 83rd minute on Northern State’s (S.D.) only shot on goal at Maxwell Field at Alltel Stadium.
The Warriors, ranked No. 14 in the latest NSCAA/adidas Top 25 poll, managed just four shots on goal themselves in the upset loss.
The loss snapped a seven game winning streak for WSU (9-3-0, 1-1-0), which had scored 18 goals over that stretch.
NSU’s (8-3-2, 1-0-1) Catherine Grace made four saves for the shutout.
