" we are not "just paying now". we've been paying for many years WITHOUT having city sewer/water. goodview hasn't paid one dime on my septic system or well. why not? i'm in goodview. to 12:15- the "common good" trumping individual rights is fine, unless your on the brown end of the stick. "

" yes, river boy, why should some of us in woodhaven dare to stick our nose in goodview's buisness? we've only been paying taxes to goodview for 20 something years. helping to pay for many city projects over the years, but have gotten little in return. when do you think, river boy, that woodhaven res. have the $%^&(%^&*$&(*&%(^&* right to stick our nose gooview buisness? also, river toy, for your information, our $23000 sewer goes to the property line only. for me to hook up will be another $8000.oo. ps. i,ll take a glass of my well water anyday before goodview,s city water, and be thankful, river boy, that other tax payers will be paying for your treated water.(assuming your in gooview)

" So only the 49 people in Woodhaven have been paying for the water and sewer projects in goodview? And as far as your taxes go, I believe your streets are maintained and plowed by the city and the park is taken care of I also think by the city. you guys think the world is centered around you.Don't you think I had assesments for my house. You guys are just paying now, when you should have payed years ago. "

" River Boy
You really don't know whose back has been carrying your load do you?
And to the person who responded to interesting: You don't know about the democratic process do you? Majority rules...not in Woodhaven. And it took more than 1 or 2 city officals to stick it to them..IT TOOK THEM ALL WORKING AS HARD AS THEY COULD FOR A LONG TIME BUT THEY DID IT THEY GOT THE 3 YES VOTES OUT IN WOODHAVEN WHAT THEY NEEDED. DRIVE OUT THERE AND SEE IT. NOT IN YOUR YARD YOU WILL SAY AFTER YOU SEE IT. "

" You really can't be that ignorant can you?
Who do you think has been paying to fund your water and sewer improvements in the city for the last 20 plus years? It has been the 49 people in Woodhaven that haven't had those services, but have been footing some of the your bill. Myabe you should use your head before you respond. "

" The attitude is only coming from one or two city officials . Most of the council did a great job taking care of a old problem. Nice to see the new council taking a different approach and at least listening and attempting to vote for the best interest of Goodview as a whole. It seems electing officials by the people payed off. "

" Leave it to the Woodhaven people to stick there nose where it doesn't belong again!!! These 2 water plants will affect everyone in the city including you Woodhaven people.Explain to me how your septic and well problems affect the rest of the city. So enjoy 1 last glass of your neighbors septic water in your faucet.Do you think if my sewer line going out to the cities main broke they would pay for it. NO, it would be the homeowner who has to fix it. "

" Now that it seems Goodview will get most of the money for the radium treatment lets see if they continue to raise the water and sewer rates to pay for it. An increase was proposed and may in fact have been started to some degree. "

" I am happy for Goodview, but to say radium is not a worrisome problem is shortsided of its mayor. It is a growing problem and the risks are not worth any amount of money. Maybe the cities affected should get funded more, but the EPA is right on with its new safety numbers. All residents should welcome higher water standards and expect them. "

" How is it when an increase in taxes will affect all of Goodview by $2,000 each (which includes the Mayor and council members) they run to the federal government (us taxpayers) for more money. But...when a $20,000 increase in taxes affects 49 Goodview residents ($300/month for 15 years) there is only "hey it's not our problem" attitude coming from the city officals and no looking for grants or any other help for the people who really can't afford it and will eventually have to sell their homes to pay the tax increase.
