St. Cloud road should reopen today after sinkhole filled in

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — A section of a major St. Cloud road was expected to reopen by Saturday after crews patch a sinkhole that opened up.

Veterans Drive was closed Thursday after an aging sewer line collapsed, causing the sinkhole.
St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis said he has been told at least one lane of the road in each direction would reopen on Friday.

The sewer line is over 80 years old and was just three weeks away from getting repaired.

Kleis said the sewer line repair will go ahead as scheduled, and the collapse won’t affect the cost of the project.
