Both vehicles were traveling south and were side-by-side. Corey Wayne Dulek, 25, of Dakota, Minn., was driving in the left lane in a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero. The second driver, Jamie Lynn Bottcher, 21, of Winona, was in a 2001 Volkswagen Passat in the right lane.
According to the police report, Dulek tried to make a right turn and struck Bottcher’s car, sending it into the ditch.
Bottcher suffered a cut on her arm but refused medical treatment. Police cited her with drunken driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.17 percent.
Dulek was referred to the county attorney’s office for charges of no insurance, making an improper turn and criminal vehicular operation. A preliminary breath test showed he was over the 0.08 percent legal limit. Pending the results of a blood test, he could also be charged with drunken driving.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
