GRSF’s Front Porch series starts today

Actor and author Peggy Rubin will kick off the Great River Shakespeare Festival’s Front Porch Conversations series at 1 p.m. today at Winona State University’s Performing Arts Center Main Stage. Rubin is the founding director of the Center for Sacred Theatre in Ashland, Ore. Her talk will focus on the power and the energy people feel from Shakespeare’s plays and is inspired by Ted Hughes’ book “Shakespeare and the Goddess of Complete Being.” It will also examine the festival’s 2007 plays, “As You Like It” and “Macbeth.”
