A new Web site, www.winonakids.org, includes videos, event listings and links to local programs like Head Start and the La Leche League and is intended as a resource for parents, grandparents and community members and includes safety ideas, parenting tips and breastfeeding support.
The site is part of Winona’s Early Childhood Initiative, a recent local effort to support education for young children from birth to five years old. Last year, the group received a $15,000 grant from the Southern Minnesota Initiative, part of the McKnight Foundation.
The group, which also put on a literacy fair last fall, built the site with the Winona Early Childhood Family Education Parent Teacher Association.
