It was the Cardinals’ second-lowest scoring output of the season as no SMU player scored in double-figures.
Carleton’s (4-8, 3-4) Tommy Drake led four Knights in double-figures with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Eric Lear and Michael Batterman each scored eight points to pace SMU (3-7, 2-4).

NORTHFIELD, Minn. — The Cardinals (3-8, 1-7) kept up with the Minnesota Intercollegiate Conference’s second-place team for much of the game, but couldn’t overcome a 26-13 personal foul differential and 35-percent shooting from the floor.
Jessica Weisbrod scored 12 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for SMU. Stephanie Ayers added 16 points and four rebounds.
The Knights (9-2, 6-2) scored one-third of their points from the foul line (21-for-35), while SMU hit just 5-of-10 free throws.
