Gow finalist for UW-L chancellor

A former Winona State University dean is among five finalists named Friday for the open chancellor seat at the University of Wisconsinn

La Crosse.
Joe Gow served as dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Winona State from 2001 to 2004 and is now interim president of Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln.

A 17-member local search and screen committee recommended the finalists Wednesday to UW System President Kevin Reilly and the Special Regent Committee for the UW-L Chancellor.

They were chosen from more than 60 who applied, said search and screen committee chairwoman Carmen Wilson.

The full Board of Regents is expected to vote on the candidates Nov. 10, and UW-L’s 10th leader could be in place by January.
