Car sleepers arrested on drug charges
Three people sleeping in a car Tuesday morning parked on Interstate 90 caught the eye of a Winona County Sheriff’s deputy, leading to two drug arrests.
The vehicle was parked and shut off on the westbound side of the highway south of Lewiston, Minn., according to a sheriff’s investigator Kraig Glover.
The deputy arrested and jailed a person in the driver’s seat, 27-year-old Jamie Lyn Haley of Eyota, Minn., on suspicion of possessing a pipe with methamphetamine residue and possession of two pills — Darvon and Skelaxin — without a prescription. Darvon is a painkiller and Skelaxin is muscle relaxant.
The deputy also arrested a passenger, 44-year-old Dana Matthew Schwartz of Elgin, Minn., on suspicion of violating probation and released Schwartz to a probation agent. — Jeff Dankert of the Winona Daily News
